The church which is dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos is located in the periphery of the settlement of Gialomonochoro, abandoned many decades ago. Until the beginning of the 20th century it constituted part of the complex of the homonymous dependency of the Monastery of Apezana, the buildings of which have today been destroyed. The church of the All-Holy Virgin belongs to the barrel-vaulted, single-nave plan, on to which was later added a domed narthex of free-cross plan shape. In the western arm of the cross on the exterior rises an arcosolium of simple form of the late Venetian occupation period. The church has good quality mural decoration of the Palaeologan period in the interior, in fact of the first half of the 14th century. In the main body of the church, scenes from the Christological and Marian cycles are developed while in the narthex are scenes from the Akathist Hymn on the walls as well as the representation of the Second Coming in layers on the dome.
