This is the church of the district cemetery. It is of an unusual architectural style, since it has two smaller aisles perpendicular to the axis of the central nave.

The Church of the Dormition is associated with a local legend that refers to the hamlet name. According to this legend, a Byzantine princess was travelling to the Holy Land; her ship was caught in a tempest and she made a promise to Mother Mary asking her to help her survive. The ship finally found refuge in the village port and the princess fulfilled her promise by building the church to Mother Mary, calling it Panagia Galini (Serene Mother Mary), which was later corrupted to Agia Galini (Holy Serenity), giving this name to the hamlet as well.
